About the 22nd. November a gentleman was roughly elbowed off

PR. 14th. December:

I.L.S. 523 Nand Singh reported at 11.30 a.m. on the 13th. that

at 10.30 a.m. when arresting a hawker for hawking oranges

without a licence at Queen's Road Central near the City

Hall several Chinese assaulted him and rescued his prisoner.

No marks of assault. He did not sound his whistle.

Case of Mrs. Kiddle's Nurse:

On 13th. November between 2.30 and 2.45 p.m. Mrs. Kiddle's

European Nurse when coming out of the Cathedral grounds on her way to the Peak Tramway Station was seized from behind by a Chinese coolie and thrown down. He attempted to seize her bag but she retained hold of it, and struck the man with

her umbrella. He then ran away.
